Revgear Sponsored Trainer Trains a Fighter for a Great Cause
Aug 2nd 2009
MMA fighter and promoter Mike Varner of Stoughton, Massachusetts trained Mark Chauppetta to fight in a charity match raising money for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and to help spread awareness.
Mark Chauppetta’s twin sons, Andrew and Troy, were born with DMD, a degenerative muscular disorder that causes the breakdown of muscle tissue over time. Chauppetta, who is not a professional MMA fighter, fought in his third – and last – MMA fight on Saturday, August 1 2009, and won! This fight – Mark Chauppetta vs. Joe Kavey - ended at 1:51 of the 1st round by guillotine choke submission.
