Tyler Minton, 22, is from Bluff City, Tennessee. His MMA record is 7-0, and he holds XFN United States Title and XFN US Southeastern Title. Tyler works very hard to be a successful and entertaining fighter. Fighting is sport for Tyler, nothing more. He says: “It’s never personal with me, but if you’re on the other side of the cage, you better hope you’ve trained harder than me and want it more, both of which will not be the case”.

Tyler started wrestling his junior year of high school at Sullivan East High School, in Bluff City, Tennessee. In 2007 he started training with Team Oxendine, out of Johnson City, TN, and had his first fight in February 2008. His first fight lasted 9 seconds and Tyler says: “ I felt like it was a waste of time, when compared to the 30lbs I lost in 2 weeks just to take the fight”. A few months later in April, he won his second fight in 42 seconds, and once again felt like the weight cut was the biggest battle.

In October 2008, Tyler had the hardest fight in his career to date, and that time he knew instantly that he belonged in this sport. This time he was really surprised to say the weight cut was nothing compared to the fight this time! The fight was a 3 round battle, and had it not been for the DVD, I would have no recollection of round 2 or 3. Tyler won this fight by unanimous decision.

After that fight, he went from training 2 nights a week to 5 nights a week. In Tyler’s own words: “ Now I eat, sleep, and breathe Mixed Martial Arts. I became a fitness coach, so my job would have no interfere with my training, which generally consists of a total of 20-25 hours a week. I am well versed in kick-boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, although my superior conditioning and "never quit" mentality are what I'm known best for”.
