October 30, 2009, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: Combate Xtremo is the only organization in Dominican Republic to have used a cage for an MMA show. On October 30, 2009 Combate Xtremo was proud to present – and Revgear was proud to sponsor! - the very first MMA event of this level in Dominican Republic. It took place in Carlos Cruz Boxing Coliseum in Santo Domingo. The fight card consisted of spectacular 7 fights. Nearly four thousand fans attended the fight and the fight was followed by national media. Dominican fans of MMA know and love UFC, and want to see the show on the same professional level. The Combate Xtremo’s organizers understood the challenge and according to Giancarlo Valdez, the event’s promoter, did their best to promote MMA in Dominican Republic. The next Combate Xtremo event is scheduled for February 2010.
